Directions:

See description of letter book in “Preparation and Planning” section. You’ll need pictures of things that start with letter A (get them from magazines, junk mail, mail order catalogs, or wherever you can find them). Cut out or write a capital and lower case letter A in the top left corner of the “A pages.” Put pictures into letter book. Add labels under the pictures. Make sound of A (long and short) and name all the pictures.

Directions:

Read the story. Make a moneybag for Ananias and Saphira by gluing some pennies on a brown construction paper or cloth shaped bag. Don’t use permanent glue. Let dry.

Directions:

Demonstrate how to hop on one foot. Have child start by hopping up and down. Alternate feet. Then try hopping over something like a jump rope – going from side to side or going from point A to point B (just a few feet)

Directions:

Find and read together stories or factual books on air travel (whatever would appeal most to your child). Discuss various modes of transportation – types of planes, hot air balloons, gliders, hang gliding. Is there one that your child has done or would like to try? Talk about how long it would take to drive to a particular destination (maybe a relative in another state) vs how long it would take to fly

2 tsp pineapple juice

2 drops lemon juice

¼ tsp honey

pinch of cinnamon

Directions:

Create folder game for letter A as described in the Preparation and Planning section of this curriculum. (see Folder Games)

Directions:

Read story. Get a zip lock bag for child to empty their piggy bank in. Take the bag.  Ask them if they would like to have all the coins back? Before you hand them the bag, take out a handful (in their full sight) but act like you’re giving them the whole thing. Put the extra coins in your pocket or lap. If they don’t say anything lead the conversation to the fact that you took some. Talk about the fact that you didn’t give them “all” back like you said. God knew Ananias and Saphira didn’t give it all either.

Directions:

Holding up first set of objects, describe to child which one is bigger – why? Is it taller? Is it wider? Is it heavier? Then talk about the smaller one. Take out 2 more items. Ask child to tell you which one is bigger and which one is smaller. Go through all items.

Directions:

Chop apple into smaller pieces. Put in blender with pineapple juice and lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Pour into bowl and add a pinch of cinnamon.
